This blueprint shows a minimal proof-of-concept for tracking temperature and location in transit.
What you will build
- Cellular-connected sensor devices reporting temperature and location.
- Secure data forwarding into a cloud endpoint.
- A dashboard view of current conditions and alert thresholds.
Architecture snapshot
- Device with a temperature sensor and SIM.
- Soracom Air for connectivity.
- Soracom Beam to forward data to your cloud endpoint.
- Dashboard for visualization and alerts.
Build steps
- Provision SIMs and register devices.
- Configure Beam for your ingestion endpoint.
- Publish sensor payloads from devices.
- Verify data flow and set alert thresholds.
Success criteria
- Devices report data every 1-5 minutes.
- Payloads reach the cloud endpoint without loss.
- Alerts trigger when thresholds are exceeded.
Next steps
- Add retry logic and offline buffering.
