Remote Access
Soracom Napter provides on-demand remote access to device ports without requiring a static global IP address or VPN setup. Open a temporary, authenticated connection to any port on a cellular-connected device for debugging, maintenance, or management.
What it does
- On-demand port forwarding — Open temporary access to specific device ports (SSH, HTTP, custom) from the Console or API
- No static IP required — Devices keep their private addresses; Napter creates a temporary public endpoint with a time-limited access window
- Access control — Restrict connections by source IP range and set automatic expiration times
- Protocol agnostic — Forward any TCP traffic, including SSH, RDP, HTTP, and custom protocols
What to scale to next
Napter is ideal for targeted remote access. As fleets and security requirements grow, teams often add:
- Soracom VPG — Use when you need always-on private network access patterns and stronger network segmentation across environments.
- Soracom Arc — Use when remote access workflows need to include LAN/Wi-Fi-connected assets alongside cellular devices.
- Soracom Flux — Use when remote diagnostics should trigger automated actions or incident-response workflows.
