Event Handler
Event Handler provides rule-based automation for the Soracom platform. Define rules that trigger actions — such as sending notifications, changing SIM speed classes, or invoking cloud functions — when specific events occur on your SIMs or devices.
What it does
- Event triggers: React to SIM status changes, data usage thresholds, speed class changes, and more
- Action types: Send emails, invoke webhooks, change SIM configurations, or trigger Lambda functions
- Threshold rules: Set data usage or session duration limits that trigger automated responses
- Scheduled rules: Execute actions on a time-based schedule
- Per-SIM or group scope: Apply rules to individual SIMs or entire groups
Common use cases
- Sending an alert when a SIM exceeds a data usage threshold
- Automatically suspending SIMs that reach a monthly data cap
- Triggering a webhook when a device comes online or goes offline
