Groups

Organize SIMs into groups to apply shared configurations for platform services

Coming soonThis service is coming soon.

Groups are the primary configuration unit in the Soracom platform. By assigning SIMs to a group, you apply a shared set of service configurations — such as Beam forwarding rules, Harvest data collection, or Air speed class settings — to all members of that group.

What it does

  • Shared configuration: Define service settings once and apply them to all SIMs in the group
  • Service activation: Enable and configure Beam, Funnel, Funk, Harvest, and other services per group
  • Fleet segmentation: Organize devices by environment (dev/staging/prod), location, or use case
  • Air settings: Control speed class, metadata, and connectivity behavior at the group level
  • Dynamic membership: Add or remove SIMs from groups at any time via console or API

Common use cases

  • Applying identical Beam forwarding rules to a fleet of sensors
  • Separating development and production device configurations
  • Enabling Harvest data collection for a subset of devices
